Dr. Dario Item is a practicing lawyer and an expert in international diplomatic affairs. He is a member of the European Caucus of Antigua and Barbuda Ambassadors and Honorary Consuls.

Aside from being an advocate for the country, Dr. Dario Item has extensive experience in the field of criminal law. His expertise extends into the aspects of trust and fiduciary law, banking and financial market law, as well as diplomatic and consular laws. He also specialises in advising clients in all matters of banking and financial law.
Career and affiliations
Ambassador Dario Item joined the Cantone Ticino Lawyer Register in 1998. He also became a member of the Cantone Ticino Notary Association in 1999.
Dr. Item is a member of the Swiss Federation of Lawyers and Notaries. He has been working with the multidisciplinary law firm I&P Law Office SA from Lugano since 2000.
Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), he is part of the professional body for advisers who specialise in inheritance and succession planning.
He has extensive experience and currently works in various facets of the law profession. From banking and finance, his expertise also covers the following areas:
